A Summer Without Visiting Nantucket

A Summer Without Visiting Nantucket

Today, July 18th, is the day that I have taken my family to Nantucket every year for nine years. I will miss my mother’s fabulous birthday dinner with friends and family,  evening walks with the children and the fireflies as the sun sets, sandwiches from Something Natural, bike rides to Madaket and Siasconset, picking wild blueberries and blackberries, late evenings at the beach basking in the incredible light, early morning bike rides to yoga in the fog, reconnecting with my best childhood friend Karen and her family, getting messy with steamers, body surfing with the seals, hobnobbing with Melanie’s chi chi friends, late romantic nights with Wade, incredibly wild hair, scrabble with my mother, tick checking, family dinners around the antique table with corn and tomato salads and fresh fish and lots and lots of laughter and chilled white wine….

So, to help me get through my depressed state, I thought that I would share with you some of my favorite Nantucket photos:

Your memories of such a beautiful place and time are so beautiful. Bask in them and let them permeate your soul. I beleive there are reasons that will save us from something by not going. We will not see the beach this year but as I sit here in my beautiful space and look out at these glorious mountains it makes me smile. Know I fell your pain and love you!

Wow, I miss Nantucket now too because of your description and pictures!
We’re missing out on our annual trip too, not as nice as Nantucket (a cabin in the wilderness of Arkansas so I can commiserate with the tick checking LOL) and that bums me out too.
    I’m sorry you can’t go!
