(Stefan Grafstein)
As I dive into social networking, doors are opening. Of course, to be good at this you need to be open and willing to opt in to whatever comes your way.
Reading my Facebook newsfeed I saw that Stefan Grafstein was “Getting Real in Aspen” and so I welcomed him to Aspen Real Life. And so ensued another unanticipated journey.
Stefan, a trained Spiritual Psychologist and transformational coach, is conducting a retreat in Aspen March 31st – April 3rd and I signed up to help him to connect with the Roaring Fork Valley locals.
What Stefan is doing for people is a beautiful thing, elevating their consciousness to deepen their connection to who they really are, but I couldn’t help but meet it with a bit of skepticism. Yes, we all could be more deeply connected but how high can you go in our Western world where we are bombarded with environmental, societal and family pressures that tend to push us to our limits?
Stefan recommended that I partake in his one on one phone session prior to his arrival and so I stopped the whirlwind of my life to lay down on my couch and stare out my window at the fields and mountains as he helped me to get more spiritually and emotionally connected to my own being.
Stefan was unintimidating but direct on his course and it was up to me on how far I chose to go with my answers. Where it is true that I wear my heart on my sleeve, I am not so great at revealing my inner depths but I strangely felt comfortable with Stefan, even though we had never met in person, and I allowed myself to go to where he was leading me.
I hung up the phone and soaked in what I had learned. Where I may have thought that I am a spiritually grounded being who feels very connected with my own emotions, I realized that I have been shutting out my inner feelings about my own strife. It felt too self-indulgent when other people have so much less and are suffering from political unrest and/or environmental disasters but, if we are going to help make our world, our family and our work a better place, we must take the time to nurture ourselves and create an inner peace and balance. I thank you Stefan for helping me to reach this place in one phone call and you have my full attention when you come to visit in March.
If you are interested in joining Stefan when he is in Aspen, please visit his website or Facebook Page for the details. If you cannot attend a full session, you will have a chance to hear him speak when he is here and he will be conducting one on one sessions, separate from the retreat. Contact him directly for this information.
And remember to, “Get outside. Go within.”
