(Natalie Portman gives a career-defining performance in Black Swan; screened on Friday, Dec. 31.)

Do you have guests coming to town and you’re wanting to know everything that is going on around town while they are here?

I suggest starting with purchasing tickets for the 20th annual Aspen Film Academy Screenings, December 22 – January 1. Tickets have gone on sale today for 19 of the season’s most attention-getting films and are available to everyone. Most of the films will take place at the Harris Concert Hall, with one evening of screenings at the historic Wheeler Opera House on December 23. The complete program is available online at

Aspen Film also announces a new addition to the program, Darren Aronofsky’s stunning psychological thriller BLACK SWAN, starring Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, and Winona Ryder, and set in the high-stakes world of New York City ballet. The film will be screened Friday, December 31, at 8:15 p.m. at Harris Concert Hall.

Tickets for Academy Screenings films are $13 each and can be purchased through Aspen Show Tickets at the Wheeler Opera House box office at 320 E. Hyman in Aspen, online at, or by phone at 970.920.5770 and toll-free at 866.449.0464. Aspen Show Tickets is open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM. (Voting members of AMPAS, BAFTA, and associated guilds should contact Aspen Film directly for more information at 970.925.6882, ext 308.)

  1. I cannot believe hayden, Tasha and I will be in Aspen, with you, this time next week!!!!! Just in time for the academy screenings. I am dying to see Black Swan. Natalie Portman had toloose 20 lbs for that role. She was already miniscule! I wonder if she did Isagenix. I am going to go back on Isagenix first week of January (along with the rest of the world)
Are you getting tickets to go to any fims?

    • Mouse, I’ll get us tix to as much as possible. Can’t wait to see you. Studying the social calendar right now. Skiing, rough housing with kids, family time, drinking, valium and being merry will be our M.O.
