The Jerry Bovino Show

The Jerry Bovino Show with Michael Conniff

I did it.? I made it through the hour long interview about “Cool Bloggers” on The Jerry Bovino Show, without getting sick or passing out. I must be maturing as Aspen Real Life grows up.

Sandwiched in-between Jerry Bovino and Michael Conniff, previous owner and talk show host on Con Games and current owner of Aspen Post, I was amazed to find that I could actually be informative about Social Media.

Two days later an 8.9 earthquake occurred in Japan and I was reading Twitter and clicking on real life accounts and journalistic stories of what was happening, before I read about it in the New York Times. And now, through Social Media, I am seeing ways that I can be involved and help. It’s expedient and it’s real and we don’t have to suffer through annoying fluffy media.

The below video states that Social Media is not a fad and is our biggest shift since the Industrial Revolution. Interesting included statistics:

  1. 1 out of 8 couples married in the U.S. have met via Social Media
  2. Facebook tops Google for weekly traffic in the U.S.
  3. Social Media has overtaken pornography as the #1 activity on the web.

I guarantee you will gasp when you read the other stats, especially how many years it has taken Social Media to reach 50 million people.

Oh, and a huge thank you for liking my Aspen Real Life Facebook Page. Get connected and have fun over there and meet an incredibly vibrant community. It’s people making things happen!!

  1. Thanks a lot for sharing the video Jillian. The stats are just so amazing. Social media skills are indeed very important.

    • Thank you for your comment Isabel. It’s the initial dive into it that seems daunting. My suggestion? Start by investing a half hour a day and soon you will actually be enjoying it. Learn how not to get sucked in and make your time efficient!
