In a cry out for help on Twitter for a stylist, I was heard by not just any old clothing company but by the very distinguished, Swiss inspired company Alp-N-Rock, who recommended that I start a fashion section, and thus let it be known, I fell in love with Alp-n-Rock Clothes and fashion was born on Aspen Real Life.
While it is true that I once worked in New York City as a Merchandising Editor for Seventeen Magazine, and was a bit of a clothes horse, with some semblance of style, the sad and sorry truth is that living in a mountain town where the locals tend to hike, bike…and sometimes sleep in work out clothes (ya never know when you might be able to fit that work out in, so may as well be prepared), one may say that my fashion sense has declined…or perhaps, diminished even. Yes, it’s that bad.
Companies that Give Back:
Alp-n-Rock is a global, premium Sport-Fashion brand rooted in the belief that the greatest luxury is the ability to be giving back by donating up to 10% of profits to fund scholarships to girls in developing countries, providing the lifelong gift of an education.
With pieces that transcend from slope to après ski, golf course and tennis court to club-house, barn to city, their clothes are perfect for moi, sans the golf, tennis and club-house. Made in the United States from American made fabrics, the supima cottons of their henleys are delectably soft and breathable and the micro fleece hoodies are warm but light-weight, be careful you’ll never want to take them off. Thankfully they are machine washable.
The clothes have a timeless, classic feel and the patches, embroideries and appliques of Edelweiss, Equestrian-fare and emblematic icons, are super feminine-cool.
One piece of advice: If you are chesty, go up a size so you don’t pop out at the buttons, or wear a lacy camisole underneath.
**The Alp-n-Rock tribe consists of globally conscious, educated and affluent consumers (that’s us), searching to
create lasting change while living a life of luxury. You can find Alp-n-Rock at Gorsuch and soon in Hamilton Sports and Miller Sports. We prefer that you buy locally but if you are from out of town and can’t find their clothes, you can shop on their website where they offer free shipping and free returns.
