If you and your kids are lovers of educational toys or novelty play sets, there are several tourist destinations where you can surround yourself with a variety of toys. While most of these playthings are not really for sale, they are still amazing to check out. Take a look at this short list to learn more about the must-visit destinations for toy enthusiasts.

  1. The Franklin Institute

The Franklin Institute is a popular American science and technology museum located in Philadelphia. From February 7 – October 4, 2015, they will be hosting the Art of the Brick – a display featuring artworks created using LEGO bricks. It boasts of more than 100 artworks that were created from more than a million LEGO Bricks.  Bring your Lego Geonosis Troopers from Tesco and ask your favorite artists to sign your masterpiece!

  1. Doll and puppet museum

Located in Vienna, the toy museum was built in 1970 and is said to be one of the most original ones in Europe. It can be found in a Baroque house that was built in 1729. True to its name, the establishment features an impressive collection of more than 30,000 dolls and puppets.

Most of them belonged to the artist Gabriella Falk Stall, while the others were from the Vienna’s History Museum. The collection includes well-preserved antique dolls and mechanical items created in France and Germany. You can also bring your old toys and they will have it repaired.

  1. Pollock Museum

This exhibit fills up two houses on the London’s Scala Street. There are plush poppets, dolls, mechanical toys, and more. Built in the 18th century, it is considered to be one of the oldest museums in the world. The Pollock Toy Museum began as a humble collection in an attic room. Over the years, it gained popularity and grew.

  1. Prague Toy Museum

It is one of the biggest toy museums in the globe and can be found in the Chambers of Prague Castle. It features seven exhibition rooms that occupy two floors. They have an impressive collection of Greek toys as well as modern Barbie Dolls. They also have traditional toys from Czech and Bohemian origins, toy cars, and original creations of Ivan Steiger.

The colors are changing early due to the drought but they sure are vibrantly popping out through the haze blowing in from the California fires. Nature keeps giving.

FROM CBS: Because the color change is driven primarily by daylight, the colors are guaranteed change regardless of other factors like drought. But according to Forest Entomologist Dr. Dan West at the Colorado State Forest Service, “the drought could cause colors to peak days earlier than usual and the intensity of the color may be diluted compared to years when precipitation is adequate”. “This is because dry conditions stress aspen stands”, says West.

As of August 27, more than 90% of Colorado is experiencing at least severe drought including the entire Denver metro area. And about 35% of the state is experiencing extreme drought including many mountain areas.
