Sept. 12th – Opening Reception of “Transcultural Bonding Within Clothing” (Etar) and a Retrospective with Jack Brendlinger

Opening Reception of “Transcultural Bonding Within Clothing” (Etar) and a Retrospective with Jack Brendlinger

Carbondale Arts presents two exhibitions opening at the R2 Gallery in The Launchpad in Carbondale on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 6 to 8pm.

Etar

Etar is an established and well-known fabric artist in the Roaring Fork Valley. Her solo exhibition will be a transcultural journey through fabric, highlighting her experiences working with locals in Peru, Bolivia, Uzbekistan, Dubai, and many parts of Europe as well. Etar has lived and worked in Aspen for over 30 years and created unique, high-end clothing for many dedicated clients.

Jack Brendlinger’s Bronze Sculptures

Jack’s bronze sculptures are produced with the lost wax technique. With age, his work has become abstract, gravity defying, modern, and filled with whimsical characters. Now in his late eighties, Jack has had the most wonderful experience in creating all kinds of art, watercolors, acrylic painting, drawings, murals, ceramics and, of course, his main love: sculpture.

A member and gallery patron preview will take place at 5:30pm, and will include a short art talk before the public reception at 6pm. Both exhibitions will be on display through October 4.
