The Kirstie Ennis Foundation’s Mission

The Kirstie Ennis Foundation’s mission is to inspire individuals to stubbornly climb the mountain in front of them. We aim to show the world that we control our circumstances, they don’t control us. We aid others by:

– Financially supporting deserving nonprofits through a grant application cycle
– Providing education, opportunity, and healing in the outdoors
– Introducing new and recycled medical device technology to underserved communities of the countries we climb in.
– Evenly distributing funding among well-known climbing destinations and lesser known mountains

Hello friends, family, and loyal supporters!

In light of the unprecedented moments we are facing with the public health crisis, our concern for all of you and what the next few weeks, let alone months will look like for us all, I wanted to speak to you personally.

The important efforts we provide here at TKEF cannot be stopped by COVID-19, as there is always a need that our mission can fulfill. We have had to postpone a number of events that support our fundraising efforts and allows us to positively impact many of our country’s veterans, and men, women, and children worldwide struggling through adversity.

Now, more than ever we must encourage the therapy found in the outdoors. Being able to provide outlets in nature for anyone struggling with peace of mind, especially with the current stressors impacting us all, is vital.

The medical devices we provide to underserved communities all over the world, such as the Wheelchair Repair Clinic we are supporting in Nepal and the many children waiting on prosthetics, are ongoing priorities and remain a need that must be filled.

Our support of deserving nonprofits who are providing needed resources all over the country and in different areas of the world must continue. With these major life changes impacting so many, perhaps you reading this, we want to be able to pay it forward through many sources. This includes our current grant recipient Warrior’s Keep. They provide free outdoor therapy programs to veterans, designed to challenge each veteran, while achieving inner-peace and healing of the mind.

In this uncertain time, it is important to keep supporting nonprofits and small businesses with the mindset of paying it forward, because we all need to work together to keep our communities thriving.

We hope you recognize the importance our foundation plays in paying it forward to areas throughout our country and the world, and understand we need continued support from our community of followers to keep our mission strong.

As always, we want to support everyone worldwide by encouraging you to take the necessary steps to remain healthy. Lean into the relationships around you for support, demonstrate the compassion that we all need to be expressing to one another, use the downtime to create new beneficial routines, and be mindful to not allow COVID-19 to consume your every waking minute.

Thank you for your time and remain #TKEFSTRONG.

Love,
Kirstie
