Carbondale Arts has truly felt fortunate to be able to open their doors to the gallery n June and they are happy to say that despite cancelled openings, both June exhibits received support and viewership- with virtual tours available as an option! Each exhibit was able to sell artwork, both in-person and on their new online store!
The upcoming July shows are very exciting!
- A locals collaborative show, curated by Wewer Keohane, The Flash Card Project is a group show featuring artwork of 50+ artists, the majority of which live in the Roaring Fork Valley, examining their time of isolation during the pandemic. All artwork will be up for auction online for the duration of the show (link will be activated on July 3). Proceeds will benefit the artists as well as Carbondale Arts. Viewers will be able to see an image of the original flash cards that inspired the artists’ works and are invited to enjoy the creativity that evolved from the process.
- Excitement of the rodeo, another summer event we’re feeling nostalgic about, photographed by a local favorite, George Hendrix, titled Ropes and Reins, Joy and Pain.
In an effort to support both exhibits and business expansion on Main Street, they have extended their hours on Friday evenings until 7pm to allow for some Gallery Gazing!
