8/15 FAMILY CLAY PLAY under the Carbondale Clay Center Tent


Come take a hand-building class with your child under the Carbondale Clay Center Tent! In these 2 hour long classes you and your child(ren) will work side by side creating with clay and decorating with underglazes. An instructor will give a demonstration at the beginning and help throughout the making process. Parents will make alongside their child(ren) and help them bring their creation to life!

Each “household” group is limited to one parent (or adult chaperone) plus a maximum of 3 children and will have their own table workspace. Classes will have 1 instructor and a maximum of 8 participants.

Due to the unexpected situation surrounding coronavirus, Carbondale Clay Center has decided to restructure their kids summer offerings. See below for more information on take home clay kits to keep you connected and working with clay this summer.

Kit includes the following

  • 8 lbs of reclaimed clay
  • tool kit that includes a sponge, wooden rib, metal rib, wooden knife, fettling knife, small double-sided loop tool, wire tool
  • Access to “3 Ways of Making for Beginners” PDF tutorial & “Tips & Tricks” Guide.
