CREATING A CULTURAL MOVEMENT TO SUPPORT YOUTH MENTAL WELLBEING: A WORKSHOP FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS

This movement to raise awareness, support, and empathy for our youth community begins with a workshop on February 10th at Here House. Facilitated by Will Bledsoe Sponsored by Aspen Strong, Here House, and Aspen Real Life. This workshop will guide a group of 12 students to lead a campaign for our youth to work together to help each other to thrive. The workshop is by application only for high schoolers. The deadline is January 14th.

Students will receive volunteer hours for the workshop and can add this to their college application portfolio.

About Workshop Facilitator Will Bledsoe founder of Restorative Way

Will Bledsoe has been called a pioneer for his advancement of Restorative Communication and his approach to implementing trauma-responsive restorative practices in workplaces, the justice system, educational institutions, and families.

Will has been an adjunct professor, researcher, restorative justice program director, trainer, and organizational consultant, He has received national and international recognition for his work.

FOR TEEN MENTAL WELLNESS LEADERS

For students who are concerned about the mental well-being of our youth community and who are interested in making a contribution by leading an entrepreneurial venture that impacts social change helping to create sustainable mental health solutions for the youth of our valley.

Who: Students from Aspen to Carbondale. Applications Due by January 23rd, 2022

Workshop: February 10th, students will get volunteer hours

Topics: mental well-being and support solutions, dissect the current issues contributing to unrest, human brain, conflict resolution strategies, tools for creating a trauma-responsive community, empathy, marketing, and brand strategy, as well as implementation.

WE WILL WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE A CAMPAIGN (WITH A REAL SPENDING BUDGET) TO RAISE AWARENESS AND EMPATHY FOR THE YOUTH COMMUNITY. STUDENTS WILL DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT AN ONGOING CAMPAIGN AND ROADMAP TO HELP THEIR COMMUNITY THRIVE.
