Aspen Youth March for the Climate Crisis

C³ We Care about the Climate Crisis

In an effort to inspire students and the greater community to learn more about, and then rise to the challenge of taking action in the global climate crisis Aspen Middle School Art Teacher, Rae Lampe, invited students & teachers to gather together as human paint drops to join in creating a giant snowflake showing we are all part of the bigger picture.

Beautiful photos taken by Cathy Miller Images captured Aspen students marching to city hall yesterday to speak out about the climate crisis, and as per the Aspen Times,  asking city and government officials to declare a climate emergency; support the federal Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, which encourages a market driven push toward clean energy by taxing carbon at the point of extraction; ban single-use plastics; and ensure solar and renewable energy is incorporated into all new buildings.

As they marched to city hall students chanted, “no more coal, no more oil, keep that carbon in the soil!”

We are all part of the bigger picture and it is our responsibility to show we care.

Rae Lampe

If many little people do many little things in many little places they can change the face of the Earth.
