Annual Home Brewers Ball 2016 – How We Grow Film Fundraiser

November 5, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm UTC-6

This is the Annual Home Brewers Ball: A fundraiser for the documentary, HOW WE GROW, and their non-profit fiscal sponsor, FAT CITY FARMERS. At least 10 different home brews will be donated by the Roaring Fork HAMS (High Altitude Mashers), the local home brewers club, many of whose members have won awards for brewing artisan beer.

One tax-deductible, $50 donation to our Fat City Farmers, Inc. via our PayPal account will put you on the private guest list for entry into the 2016 Annual Home Brewers Ball. Please watch our film trailer and donate to get your name on the private guest list at the following website:

– A printed souvenir beer tasting glass
– 10+ kegs of craft home brew to taste from
– Local farm-to-table appetizers
– Plates from the Slow Groovin’ BBQ truck!
– Live music and dancing until the beer runs out!
– Silent Auction

There will be a guest beer label contest this year! Design your own beer label and the home brewers will vote on the winner, who will receive a case of custom home brew, dressed in their label, around February 2017. To enter, all you need to do is give us your best political statement or whatever your heart desires, printed on an 8×11 piece of paper the night of our event. See for inspiration!

In addition to the Label Contest, there will also be a silent auction and live music until the beer runs out!

‘How We Grow’ is a local documentary film being made this year and next, about the local food movement, the young farmers working to feed their communities, the local chefs and markets they are feeding, their farming and business mentors, and the organizations bringing agricultural education back to the forefront.

Fat City Farmers, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the educational work of farming, and is serving as the non-profit sponsor for the film effort. The message of this film will spread awareness of how any community can grow their own local food economy, growing organic soil, local jobs, while building a resilient foodshed all around them.

The “Roaring Fork HAMs” (high altitude mashers) is the Roaring Fork Valley’s only official home brewers club, whose community mission is to share their artisanal brewing talents with interested community members willing to support community efforts like this documentary film. The HAMs will provide 10+ different flavors of home brewed beer, along with printed souvenir glasses, for attendees over 21 to sample. The HAMs will sponsor the ‘Guest Label Contest’.

Please join us and support your local farmers, chefs, and beer brewers! This is a private, 21+ event. All guests must be on the list before entering the event. To get on the list, simply donate $50 or more via the donate button at Tickets are limited, so don’t delay! Any questions, please contact Haley at: [email protected]
