Basalt Summer Cinema: Movies in the Park: Local Hero

Join us for the showing of, Local Hero; Saturday, August 13, at Lions Park in Downtown Basalt. Gates open at 7pm for a pre-movie community picnic and the film will start after sunset. Movies will continue every second and fourth Saturday through September 10.
The series, presented by the Basalt Chamber of Commerce, is designed for a range of ages and interests. Chamber Board member and videographer Haley Thompson who is organizing the program with Basalt Chamber president Robin Waters said, “The series offers an opportunity for students and aspiring filmmakers to show their art, as well as providing fun entertainment for all.”
Scrumptious sandwiches and snacks can be purchased from the Munch LLC, Open Fire Catering and other food trucks and venders. Beer, wine, refreshments and popcorn will be available for purchase so no alcoholic beverages may be brought into the park.
Folding chairs, blankets, small umbrellas, flashlights and a sweaters are suggested. Costumes, singing and dancing are encouraged.
The Chamber seeks ongoing sponsors to cover the cost of equipment and licensing.
