Bluebird Art + Sound 2017
June 30, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - July 2, 2017 @ 10:00 pm UTC-6
BLUEBIRD Art + Sound is a leading-edge contemporary art and music festival launching in Snowmass Village, CO from June 30th-July 2nd.
On Friday, June 30, the Drive-By Truckers headline our concert on Fanny Hill. The band recently released their 11th album, American Band, on September 30, 2016. The album features an alternative country sound and politically oriented lyrics that address, head-on, the times we’re living in. Performing with Drive-By Truckers are the Seratones, the fast rising rock ‘n roll band out of Shreveport, Louisiana. Local Snowmass favorite The True Story Band opens the night. Tickets for the concert which runs from 6pm-10pm are on sale here. On Sunday, the BAS Sound Experience culminates with the BLUEBIRD Closing Party featuring DJ Naka G, Berkel Beats and ‘X’ from 6pm-10pm on the Base Camp Village Lawn, next to the Art Experience.
On Saturday and Sunday, a free interactive art exhibition will be open in Base Village. The interactive art exhibition, known as the BAS Art Experience, is curated by Los Angeles artist Jesse Fleming. Fleming is part of an emerging group of artists and technologists who are at the forefront of depicting the convergence of media art and mindfulness. The BAS Art Experience is slated to include diverse art forms including video installation, virtual reality, still paintings, exterior structure projections, and sound/music performance art, complemented by daily scheduled art discussions and guided mindfulness practices. The interior of BAS Art Experience will follow an immersive flow, allowing viewers to examine the duality of the human experience within each environment.
BLUEBIRD Art + Sound brings together art, music and, technology, and mindfulness into a unified event based around a yearly theme as a platform for contemplation and insight – bringing people of all kinds together to examine the greater meaning to this year’s theme ‘u/s’ — ‘u/s’ = unity thru art+music. BLUEBIRD aims to unite us all in order to celebrate and spur non-dualistic thought and civilized discourse around music and art.
