Professor Elizabeth Fenn on Encounters at the Heart of the World: A History of the Mandan People

Feb. 15 from 5:30pm at the Carbondale Library

CU Carbondale is a collaboration between Colorado University of Boulder, Carbondale Arts, and the Carbondale Library to bring a series of lectures to the Roaring Fork Valley. Join them on Feb.15 at 5:30 in the Carbondale Library for a lecture by Elizabeth Fenn, Pulitzer Prize winning author along with Walter and Lucienne Driskill, Professors of Western American History at the University of Colorado Boulder. Fenn’s illustrated slide-lecture derives from her book; Encounters at the Heart of the World, which tells the story of North Dakota’s Mandan Indians. Widely known for hosting Lewis and Clark, the Mandans proved resilient and adaptable in the face of challenges. Free and open to the public. For more information call 970-963-2889
