History Lessons with Larry | History of Smuggler Mine

Longtime Aspen Historical Society volunteer Larry Fredrick will share in-depth but timely lessons in specific areas of Aspen history in a new program offered every Thursday in March. A mining expert, Larry’s breadth of knowledge and enthusiasm for stories from the past will entertain budding historians of all ages and interest!

March 15th – History of Smuggler Mine
Dig deep into the history of one of Aspen’s well-known mines. From the first claim through today, we’ll hear the stories behind the operation and get to know the people associated with the mine, including D.R.C. Brown and David Hyman.

The public is invited to join Larry on Thursdays from 3PM – 4PM in the new Community Gallery at the Aspen Historical Society Archive Building. No reservations necessary.
