Hunter Creek Forest Ecology

July 19, 2017 @ 3:00 am - 7:00 am UTC-6

Free – $10.00

An Aspen gem, the Hunter Creek Valley is home to a wonderfully diverse landscape. From riparian habitat to oakbrush, aspen to conifer, the valley supports a wide variety of plant and animal life. However, as increased drought conditions, warmer temperatures, and more intense wildfires continue to impact the American West, forest ecosystems are struggling to maintain critical wildlife habitat and resilience to insect and disease infestations. Join Forest Program Director Adam McCurdy for a half-day hike into the Hunter Creek valley to learn more about the complex issues facing these treasured landscapes and the steps land managers are taking to help.
