Music at the Library: “Jazz, Folk, Minimalism”

April 6 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm UTC-6

Free

The Daniel Bennett Group, led by saxophonist, composer, Daniel Bennett, will perform a jazz concert at Basalt Regional Library as a part of their Colorado tour to promote their latest album, ‘Sinking houseboat Confusion’. Their music is a provocative mix of jazz, avant-pop, and surf rock. Quoting Daniel, “the audience will experience a sonic journey that is spontaneous and fun”. The trio was recently voted ‘Best New Jazz Group’ in New York City Hot House Magazine. The Village Voice raves, “saxophonist Daniel Bennett makes hay with an airy approach that’s buoyant enough to conjure notions of East African guitar riffs and Steve Reich’s pastoral repetition’. The Daniel Bennett Group performs every month at Tomi Jazz in midtown Manhattan, an out-of-the-way Japanese Jazz club.

Daniel Bennett: Alto Saxophone/Flute/Oboe
Matthew Feick: Drums
Nat Janoff: Guitar
