Toklat Workshop: Storytelling & Poetry Night

February 18 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm UTC-6

Join ACES Naturalist Halle Zander for a night of poetry and storytelling. After completing her senior thesis on spoken word education, Halle has developed a deep appreciation for the community benefits that come from telling stories.

Together, we will learn about a brief history of spoken word in the United States, discover the benefits of poetry programs for youth groups, practice some effective storytelling techniques, and listen to some professionals who are leading the movement in spoken word education. Afterward, those who are interested in participating in a writing prompt or sharing circle can spend time working on writing pieces of all formats.

RSVP at https://www.aspennature.org/learn/programs/winter-spring/toklatworkshop2.

About Toklat Workshops: Toklat Workshops are a four-part series. Each workshop is hosted by an ACES Naturalist who currently resides at this special place. Each workshop offers an opportunity to learn something new, and to meet and collaborate with fellow residents and visitors to the Roaring Fork Valley. Join ACES in creating a closer and more caring community through music, writing, and art.
