Climate Change & Environmental Support Group

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Join a Climate Change & Environmental Support Group, a community of compassionate and engaged neighbors in a supportive, non-judgmental setting. Does climate change make you feel hopeless, stressed, or depressed? Does news of species extinction, pollution, and environmental destruction make you feel angry, fearful, or anxious? Share your feelings and experiences processing the emotions brought up by climate change and environmental destruction.

If this does not apply to you, that is okay! Please share with anyone you think may benefit.

We will meet the second Thursday of each month from 5:30-7:00.

This group is free and open to the public. While we invite all ages, this group will be geared more towards adults. It is our hope to create a youth specific group in coming months.

A $5 suggested donation will help go towards refreshments and supplies, but is not mandatory. Please email Emily Supino at [email protected] with questions.

** A brief summary of why this group was started. In June 2019, Aspen Ideas Festival and Pitkin County hosted a community talk about climate grief. There were many passionate voices in the room, which brought attention to the need to provide a safe place for community members to express their concerns, anxieties, and fears about climate change. Therefore, after researching what types of groups exist like this and how to best bring this to our community, we have decided to start a local support group for concerned citizens needing a place to talk and process their feelings about climate change.
