In anticipation of the Food and Wine Classic, coming to Aspen June 17 – 19th, I have been trying to up my game in the kitchen to enhance our ritual family dinners. The cookbook, Feed Zone Table: Family-Style Meals to Nourish Life and Sport, by Chef Biju Thomas and Dr. Allen Lim, has helped me in my effort to not only return to actually enjoying my time in the kitchen but to ensure that I am preparing nourishing meals for my boys, and Baddy, who come home starving and exhausted, and although I have not plowed through the entire book yet, the recipes that I have made have been devoured such as; Chicken Pad Thai prepared with Chicken thighs and tofu and low-sodium soy sauce; Chicken and Almond Dumplings made with gluten-free flour; Baked Salmon in Pastry and Baked Granola Crisp.
Dr. Allen Lim, an exercise physiologist, made a name for himself working alongside top American athletes and teams on the pro cycling tour and reengineering sports drinks and athletic meals. He is also the cofounder of Skratch Labs, a start-up with goals to help people take better care of themselves and their families.
Chef Biju Thomas, a professional chef with a passion for feeding people good food, owns Biju’s Little Curry Shop, a fast-casual restaurant with locations in and around Denver, serving made-from-scratch food inspired by his family.

Similar to Chef Biju Thomas, my boys are always critiquing me on how to improve upon the tastes and textures of the food I serve. My intention with this cookbook is for them to get up off their cute little bottoms and dive into the 100 recipes of Feed Zone Table and cook for their mama who is getting insanely busy as AspenRealLife rockets into the next dimension. With easy techniques for making flavorful food that’s fun to prepare, this should not be a problem!
