FirstBank Inspires Others to Give it Forward on Colorado Gives Day

FirstBank Becomes Sponsors of Aspen Connect

We’d like to give an enormous WELCOME to our new Aspen Connect sponsors, FirstBank, who are also primary corporate sponsors for Colorado Gives Day, a campaign that has raised over $181 million dollars for nonprofits since its launch in 2010. Last year, a record $36.6 million was raised. For their fifth year in a row, FirstBank inspires others to give it forward on Colorado Gives Day Colorado Gives Day, Tuesday, December 4, 2018. The $1 Million Incentive Fund created by the partners is one of the largest giving-day incentive funds in the country. Read More about FirstBank’s philanthropic efforts below.

This is what we are talking about: connecting people together, bringing on the happy — bringing on the good — that is what kind of corporation FirstBank is, and that is why we are more than elated that they have become sponsors of our Aspen Connect events.

FirstBank Employees Go Undercover as Servers; Inspire Giving by Paying for Hundreds of Tabs

FirstBank partnered with different restaurants throughout the state, including Free Range Kitchen and Wine Bar in Basalt, going undercover as “servers in training,” surprising locals by paying their dinner tabs, even the FirstBank President was a server. Over 75 tabs in total were paid for at Free Range Kitchen and Wine Bar that night. In total, FirstBank paid for 800 people throughout the state (or nearly $20,000 in restaurant bills), with the hope to motivate Coloradans to give back to causes and communities that need it. Watch the heartwarming video here:

The goal was to encourage goodwill and inspire lucky recipients to pay that act of kindness forward to their favorite charity on Colorado Gives Day (Dec. 4), a 24 hour online giving movement that supports over 2,500 charities.

Give it Forward on Colorado Gives Day

This is the ninth year FirstBank has been a presenting partner of Colorado Gives Day, and the fifth year FirstBank has done its “Give It Forward” campaign to encourage donations for the online giving program. Last year, FirstBank officers took over several gas stations and bought fuel for over 500 commuters. Watch video HERE. In 2016, executives disguised themselves as grocery store baggers and surprised more than 100 unsuspecting shoppers with free groceries. Read more HERE.

And guess what? The Give It Forward campaign is working. Every Colorado Gives Day has resulted in record breaking donations with many people noting it was the surprise campaign that inspired them to donate. Just last year, more than $36 million was raised.

Don’t forget to “give where you live” on Dec. 4 at coloradogives.org, and be sure to use the promo code GIVEITFORWARD during checkout.

How Nature Heals, A Story From aspenreallife.com: #l....As the story from the forest unraveled while we were skinning through it, other stories were revealed and I began to collect the information for a possible future children’s book; the snow crystals sparkling like diamonds in the sun, the white ice crystals of hoarfrost layered upon the snow, and as I absorbed the textures with my eyes, I realized that I also felt the textures from within and it was inexplicably soothing. We have been forced to slow down during this Pandemic, allowing us the opportunity to reflect deeply about our place in the world. For many of us revelations are happening daily, but if we are filled with anxiety, or can’t move beyond our depression, we will not allow the revelations to seep in and we will miss the magic. Meditation helps immensely to create mindfulness about the chatter that leads to the anxiety, as does listening to the journeys of others as they get raw in their pain while enduring heart break and loss. As we repeatedly witness, the world can be a scary place where humanity can be careless, selfish and hateful, but humanity and compassion can also heal us to a place where we are able to see the world as healing rather than a place we want to escape from, but you need to get raw with it. Face it head on, so that you can create space and breathe, which will allow you to slowly shed the anxiety and the depression so that you can strengthen from within and persevere, no matter what is going on around you. Get outside in nature, and nurture it as it nurtures you.Read More at aspenreallife.com#hownatureheals#intotheforest#hoarfrost#textures#natureheals#aspenreallife ...
