It’s not only the cooking tips and delicious healthy and fresh food prepared by Chef Susie Jimenez that draws me to her, but also the professionalism and magnetism of the people that she attracts that pulls me closer. She’s also excellent at throwing events and connecting business professionals to one another.
Wanting to expand my connections to those individuals Susie endorses who are based downvalley, on a rainy/snowy day last Saturday I attended her Wellness Event at Sopris Crossfit. Who would have thought that the crossfit gym where she obsessively works out at could turn into such a perfect venue for a wellness networking event? But it worked beautifully as an event pertaining to mind and body wellness. Services offered included; massages, skin care, weight loss programs, mini facials, acupuncture, oral cancer screenings, B12 shots, physical therapy consultations, chiropractic services, healthy baked snacks, and so much more.
Turns out there were so many booths to attend in the three hours I was there, I was unable to get it all in but I certainly tried my best, with Susie’s food sustaining me as I ran from booth to booth; a broccoli “tabouli” salad with celery, mint, parsley, cucumbers and tomatoes, and a chunky roasted salmon with tomatoes, artichokes, corn and arugula with mint cilantro chutney. Organic wellness juice samples were provided by Tonic Juicery and detox teas by Nicolle Noyes of Arbonne – Healthy Lifestyle. I was so happy to see that Sarah J. Theodore of Sunshine & Moons Bakery was giving samples of her delicious dark chocolate almond and cherry almond chia sugarless paleo bites for energy and meal replacements. I stocked up.
Beelining it toward Vega of Hill Climb Acupuncture, I sprawled out in a comfy lounge chair while receiving Auricular Acupuncture, which stimulated my sympathetic nervous system, bringing me deeper into my yoga state from my morning practice with Aaron King.
From there I received an excellent consultation from Lisa Kellogg, a physical therapist with Personal Rehabilitation Center. I am convinced that they are where I need to go to heal my chronic pain.
And then, a B-12 shot from Premier Medical Clinic where Dr. Tim Kruse, with his concierge medical practice, is pioneering a new approach to healthcare.
Two other business professionals there that my family has entrusted to take care of us were Simon Dogbe, Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual, and Todd Swank, Insurance Specialist at Reserve National Insurance.
Elevate Dental Wellness, an advanced preventative dental practice was also there. Susie had introduced me to Dr. Van Gorden and Dr. Steinbach last year and I am well versed in their dental care that focuses on total well being, I transferred my entire family over to them. Watch Interview.
Dr. Jill Cameron DC and Scott Tesoro of Sopris Chiropractic, spoke of chiropractic manipulation, sports rehabilitation, orthotic therapy, whiplash and spinal trauma, neurology, kinesio taping, and nutritional therapy.
Other vendors included; BIRTHFIT, a practice cultivating awareness and enhancing education throughout the motherhood transition through in-person classes and distance learning; Shredly, engineered apparel that crosses over into all women’s athletic endeavors…not just cycling; Rosie Whipple-Andrews of Katherine LeGrand. Rosie is one of the most talented jewelers and goldsmiths in our valley, with beautiful unique jewelry designs and custom jewelry pieces; GobeMap, an app designed by Chris Bebe, built to connect you with the places that matter most; Rodan + Fields, a skincare regimen that addresses skin concerns: Acne
All in all it was yet another incredible event put on by Susie, confirming that you don’t want to miss another event that she puts on.
