Marley Safehouse Historic Chill

The crew at Marley's Mellow Mood got it right with the design for their Marley Safehouse this year, transforming the former Crystal Palace, a beloved historic Aspen performance venue, into a stylish and chill lounge, and a "Safehouse" for the athletes competing in the 2013 Winter X-Games in Aspen.

Marley Safehouse:

The crew at Marley’s Mellow Mood got it right with the design for their Marley Safehouse this year, transforming the former Crystal Palace, a beloved historic Aspen performance venue, into a stylish and chill lounge.

Let’s lead with the truly impressive collection of original photo prints, from the book,?Bob Marley And The Golden Age Of Reggae 1975-1976?The Photographs Of Kim Gottlieb Walker, which are displayed and curated in a deserving manner: with proper lighting, comfortable seating, and music to match. This extended “No Photography Allowed” private space next door was created as the “Safehouse” for the athletes, and is a true sanctuary.

MadSteez Streetart:

Back inside, the main bar retains a bit of the character from the Crystal Palace, with added red, gold & green lighting; but, the centerpiece of this space is the dance floor and performance area. There is a captivating wall-sized mural of Bob Marley with a lion on each shoulder, from the Legend album cover. This streetart inspired piece, spanning multiple wood panels and?created by artist “MadSteez,” works beautifully?with the ornate original chandelier, and comes alive with laser lighting.

Matisyahu and Ky-Mani Marley Play in Private Lounge in Aspen:

The shows here this weekend with Matisyahu & Ky-Mani Marley will definitely qualify this as a “don’t miss” venue after the X Games festivities.

He is currently President of the Board of Directors for the Aspen Young Professionals Association (AYPA), founded the Aspen Buffs alumni group for the CU Alumni Association in Aspen, is a volunteer coach for Aspen Junior Hockey, and serves on the Board at Aspen Community Church.
