In his search for something more sustainable — both in life and in a protein bar — Hesse began to dream up a line of products to sustain the body, engage the mind, and ignite the soul.

In a world where nothing is certain, the choices we make today are the ones that count, the choices that ensure our health, and the choices that create our happiness. This is the message behind Vukoo®, an Aspen-based nutrition brand founded by local resident Christopher Hesse.

Vukoo® was created in 2012 after Hesse grew tired of searching for the right protein bar to fuel his active lifestyle. While training for fitness competitions, he found himself discontented with bad tasting, poorly made, chemically enhanced protein bars. These bars eventually started to have detrimental effects on his health and wellbeing.

But his disillusionment with the world of fitness extended beyond the lack of quality protein bars. Like many of us pursuing the path of fitness and conditioning, he was spending hours in the gym and eating endless chicken and broccoli dinners. Hesse found that his pursuit of physical perfection was void of any real sense of happiness or accomplishment.

In his search for something more sustainable — both in life and in a protein bar — Hesse began to dream up a line of products to sustain the body, engage the mind, and ignite the soul. After a lengthy trial and error process with numerous protein bars, he decided to write a recipe of his own. Vukoo® was born.

Vukoo® has always been about more than a quick protein bar. The brand continues to inspire a lifestyle rooted in the belief that we can all overcome our struggles. By looking within and recognizing our potential, we can explore the world beyond our boundaries. There, we can discover our greatest selves. Vukoo® helps us to identify and act upon our potential within.

Of course, these gourmet bars are delicious too. With six flavors, Vukoo bars are made with organic, gluten-free, and all-natural ingredients — including raw honey local to Colorado. Vukoo® is committed to supporting its local community and giving back to nonprofits and charitable initiatives. Currently, the brand supports the A21 Campaign in its fight to end global slavery.

Whether you’re out on the trail or training in the gym, these farm-to-bar meal replacements are perfect for sustenance. And the inspiring message will hopefully sustain you for even longer.
