The first weekend of Bud Light Spring Jam kicked off with Brett Dennen at the Bud Light Hi-Fi concert in Snowmass. The fun continued with the Fallen Friends competition at Aspen Highlands. The 5th annual Fallen Friends is a memorial event that unites skiers and snowboarders from all disciplines to celebrate the mountain lifestyle and remember and honor fallen friends. The event consists of bumps, rails, jumps and other features on the bottom section of Scarlett’s Run on Aspen Highlands above the Merry-Go-Round and a guest judge’s panel that determines prizes for a variety of different categories
Fallen Friends Results:
1st place – Steve Irwin and the Croc Hunters – Featuring Wylie Adams, Blake Axelson, Madison Bailey and Brandon Rohrbaugh
2nd place – Words with Friends – Featuring Packy and Ben Westfeldt, Amelia “Wheels” Burns, Markus Loeffler, Ryan Odell and Michael Olenick
3rd place –Sleezy Riders – Featuring Zak Ferrara, Teddy Karlinski, Mike Emerson, John Henry, Seth Beckton and Max Meredith
Hula Boys – Featuring Tristan Feinberg, Austin Hooker, Will Lanter, Jackson Ferraro and Ian Catto
Beach Boys – Featuring Harper Rafelson, MJ Marano and Ari Diamond-Jopelson
Words with Friends – Featuring Packy and Ben Westfeldt, Amelia “Wheels” Burns, Markus, Ryan Odell and Michael Olenick
Honey Badgers – Margo McHugh, Marie Brendlinger, India Cardamone and Lucia Penzel
A total of 18 teams competed and raised money for the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club (AVSC) Scholarship programs in honor of friends who have passed away skiing or snowboarding in the mountains.
