Salon Face Off Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale

As I turn it up on AspenRealLife and feature the cool locals in our valley, I decided to go with my inner mantra to do what’s right in front of me, and what is immediately right in front of me is my mirror, reminding me to look more closely at my massive unruly head of hair. And then it came to me …  why not visit the local hairdressers and get their input on what they would do with my hair if given the chance? And so began the Salon Face Off.

Don’t get me wrong …. I love my hair on a good beach day, and definitely enjoy being different from everyone else … but on most days I loathe that my tendrils escape in every which way, mimicking my personality; wild, frazzled…late, and since I am becoming a famous Aspen blogger at a rapid pace of nine years, and am hanging out with some of the coolest and most inspirational people of our valley, I deemed it time to bring out my own outer coolness.

Being that I am all about connecting people to the things and people I love most in the valley, I decided to do it differently than the others and shamelessly put myself in front of the video camera and show off my frizz. At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go there, but then I meditated and got over it. Be careful my friends, meditation gets rid of inner doubt, but if one is not careful, they might find themselves doing absolutely embarrassing things for the sake of their purpose.

Although, we would have liked to have featured all of the voted hairdressers, we realized that we neither had the time, nor the crew to feature them all, and so we narrowed it down to 6, visiting each one for an individual video consultation.

A huge thank you to all who participated, I truly enjoyed all of our professionalism and your consultations, and would be happy with putting my hair in any of your hands.
