Stem Cell PRP Facial in Aspen

Stem Cell PRP Facial in Aspen

As somebody whose character is expressed through the crow’s feet on my face, I’m not quite ready to have my lines be like the rings of a tree trunk defining my age. But for one who is more and more focusing on living as as organically as possible, the idea of injecting Botulism into my system is increasingly alarming. Not to say I haven’t gone there, but when the money I spent that I didn’t have resulted in freezing away my facial emotions, and thus my character from my face, I vowed to never do it again.

Deeply grooved expression isn’t what I’m going for either, and so with a desire to investigate my options and find as natural a procedure as possible to soften the harshness, I discovered Dr. Julian Robert Gershon Jr. DO, FAOASM ABAARM, a Doctor in Aspen who specializes in Stem Cell Therapy and anti-aging and regenerative medicine. A specialist is what I was wanting, somebody who ONLY  focuses on anti-aging and regenerating collagen and Stem Cells.

Triple board certified in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine and Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, Dr. Gershon recently was awarded a fellowship in Stem Cell therapy by the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. He also was named as one of America’s best doctors for 2017.  A college and Olympic physician for 35 years, Dr. Gershon has personally performed Stem Cell Therapy since 2012.

Thinking back on all those times as a teenager when I spent hours playing like a dolphin in the ocean without repeated applications of sunscreen, or sunbathing with my sisters in our mother’s garden holding aluminum shields in our hands to direct the sun’s rays onto our faces, I cringe on how ignorant we were about the damaging rays of the sun. Never did we think for one second that we wouldn’t always have a perfect complexion. And now, living and playing outdoors as much as possible in Colorado I find it a blessing and a curse to be living where the cool, dry air and closer proximity to the sun wreaks even more havoc on my skin. As my once beautiful skin thins and wrinkles, I try to find the most natural way to reverse the damage. One thing I know is that I don’t much care for the plastic surgery work I see on the streets, and this is why I went to Dr. Gershon to get a PRP and Stem Cell Facial (otherwise known as the Vampire Facial).as and wrinkles. Dermal injection and topical micro-needling produces dramatic improvement in tone and texture of the skin. Two treatments are included in the package. Hair Regeneration: can be used to stimulate and nourish follicles for hair growth using highly concentrated blood plasma containing platelets that release growth factors. These growth factors have been shown to generate new hair and improve the density and health of existing hair. [/su_box]

With a diverse background and a whole lot of experience in all levels of athletics, Dr. Gershon chooses to help aging athletes and active adults that want to feel better, live better long, avoid joint replacements and look better. He is most passionate about Stem Cell therapy for joint pain in the knees, hips, shoulders, and uses one’s own stem cells to regrow cartilage, repair partial ligament tears and rotator cuff tendon injuries, “It’s really unlimited as what we can do, with the repair that we see using our own tissues through PRP with Stem Cell and we’ve seen significant results with up to 70- 80% reduction in pain on average by six months,” says Dr. Gershon in our interview that you can watch at the bottom of this page.

In my first PRP Facial Treatment, Dr. Gershon applied a local anesthetic mask to numb my face before he drew my blood. The blood was then put into a Centrifuge tank to separate off the red blood cells, leaving just the plasma that is rich in platelets that then got injected back into my face, all over. This procedure is not a filler. It is something that rehydrates, provides nutrition and helps to repair the delicate tissue around the face.

PRP aids injured or impaired cells and vessels in restorations via substances called growth factors. These growth factors supplement and stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of many cells within the body. This process of new cell production and old cell regeneration produces the fuller, smoother skin, while production of collagen produces the firmer, younger looking skin. In addition to these benefits of PRP treatment, it is also a more natural treatment option, utilizing the patient’s own plasma to instigate healing and rejuvenation of the skin. Other treatment options claiming to produce similar outcomes may provide an immediate result, however, the products of fillers are usually synthetic and the cost and downtime of surgery can far surpass the means of the patient.

When I first met with Dr. Gershon, he began with his Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy, drawing my blood to  get a complete hormone panel, after all, health from within is most important. Then he took a look at my face deciding that we needed three PRP procedures to work on my lines that ran so deep.

With my hormones in check, I had my first PRP with umbilical cord stem cells a month ago, and the second one this past Friday. The third facial will be a month from now (the treatments are spaced one month apart for maximum effects).

If you ever have had injections before, you know what to expect with these treatments. I can’t say that it wasn’t uncomfortable but the numbing cream helped, as did the Lidocaine included in the PRP treatment and Dr. Gershon was caring and gentle and I knew I was in the right hands due to his experience and credentials. Also, knowing that this is not something I have to do every six months eased my mind.

Does a Stem Cell PRP Facial Work?

Stem Cell injections can take up to three months to rejuvenate the collagen in one’s face and so it’s nice to know that my face will only continue to look younger as I age (the stem cells don’t need to be re-injected for 5-10 years, whereas botox lasts for three to six months). Thus far, I have noticed daily improvements in the softening of the lines on my face, with the lines definitely plumped up around my eyes, above my lip and through my Nasial label lines. The complexion of my face is much smoother. It’s funny, but at night the lines are almost gone, until I smile, but that is what I wanted, a natural reduction of wrinkles with facial expression.

I keep staring at myself in the mirror in disbelief that I have created this life for myself, and for others, where I can test the most innovative anti-aging and healing technologies and show off the results. This procedure can also be used to improve the appearance of dark circles under the eyes which is an area that has been difficult to treat with existing fillers.

** Can’t believe I’m posting these extremely unattractive pictures, all for you, and for the sake of the blog!!

It's amazing the treasures one finds when one slows down to take an old pup out for daily slow walks. Having been up in Aspen for 5 years, I forgot about this old Fairview Cemetery that Loki guided me to where I discovered Merino Fiou: Merino Bruno Fiou, AKA “Mr. Basalt”, born July 29, 1940 in Glenwood Springs and died March 6, 2011 at Valley View Hospital. This from the Aspen Times: A constant staple of the Town of Basalt, Merino was always on the search for a treasure that few of us cherished. He had a love of hats and was always seen wearing a different one. He walked many miles each day back and forth into town. Many local merchants of different stores knew him by name. Merino was very proud of his money jar that he accumulated by turning in his aluminum cans that he collected. Merino had many jobs throughout the years including trash pickup and working at Two Rivers Cafe washing dishes. He liked to help out wherever needed, even volunteering when they built the playground. Merino was very fond of River Days and loved to listen to the music in town. With a constant smile on his face, he was very friendly and never knew a stranger. Merino loved the annual yard sale at his house, looked forward to sifting through all the stuff, he found a treasure in things that other people threw out.Did anyone know Merino?#iseenya#mrbasalt#coolcemeteries ...
