The tastes, the smells, the flavors…it’s all part of the experience!

The tastes, the smells, the flavors…it’s all part of the experience!

One look at the calendar will tell you that there’s still plenty of summer left for your kids
to enjoy before returning to ‘more pencils, more books and more teachers dirty looks.’
As a family-friendly destination, we made it our mission to cater to kids, because we
know that if the kids are having fun…everything is right with the world. We’ve also
found, often times kids feel left out when an activity or event is ‘adults only.’ Why
should Happy Hour be the exclusive domain of the 21 and over crowd? At Glenwood
Caverns Adventure Park, we’ve rectified that by creating our very own Kids Happy Hour
at the Lookout Grille, every Monday – Thursday (through Labor Day), from 5 p.m. to
closing time.

The tastes, the smells, the flavors…it’s all part of the experience! The tastes, the smells, the flavors…it’s all part of the experience! The tastes, the smells, the flavors…it’s all part of the experience!
That’s when kids 3 – 12 can get 50% off a beat-the-heat ICEE drink in a variety of fruity
flavors. The iconic ICEEs have been a part of summer since they were first created back
in 1958 and it’s been a hot weather treat ever since.  And, so that mom and dad don’t
feel left out, we’ve also got a Happy Hour for them too, with $4 drafts of Fat Tire, Blue
Moon, Coors Light and our favorite—Adventure Park Ale, a locally-brewed IPA.
Of course, anyone who grew up going to fairs and amusement parks has memories of
some signature treat that they’ll always associate with memories of fun times with
family on a summer day. That’s why Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park has plenty of its
own signature foods and belly-pleasing choices.

The Lookout Grille’s main menu offers little something for everyone with plenty of
seating, inside or out on the shaded patio, to take in the amazing views. Favorites
appetizers include ‘Mountain Nachos’…a sky-high plateful of cheesy chips with all the
fixings and ‘Loaded Fries’…French fries topped with cheese sauce, onions and bacon.

There are beef or veggie burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches, all with the option of a
regular or gluten-free bun. Health-conscious options include chicken wraps and garden
salads with or without chicken. For kids, choose a kid’s sized burger or chicken nuggets
that come with a drink and kettle chips, applesauce or fries.

The Popcorn Wagon has all the classic stuff you remember, like cotton candy, corndogs,
chips and cinnamon glazed nuts and everyone’s sinful favorite… funnel cakes! The
smells alone will throw you back in time. The Snack Shack is another spot to grab some
good eats. ‘Grab a slice’ or enjoy a brat or hot dog to satisfy growling tummies. When
it’s time for a cold treat, indulge in an ice cream or a sno-cone. Of course all locations
serve a wide array of cool refreshments to help bet the heat on a summer day.

Finally…no amusement park experience is complete without homemade fudge. For a
truly mouthwatering treat, stop by the General Store to peruse the display case of
fudge—all made by hand daily—and pick whatever is most tempting.
So, stop in for Happy Hour—kids welcome—and stay for the fun of it! Find out more
