The Farm Collaborative will host its 19th annual community harvest event, Farm to Fridge, on Wednesday, November 18, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 200 Agricultural Way (adjacent to Cozy Point). The gathering offers valley residents free
farm-share bags packed with fresh, regeneratively grown produce—enough to feed a family of
four—while supporting local farmers at the end of the growing season, when summer markets
have closed.
The initiative draws inspiration from Brazil’s pioneering restaurante popular program, which
replaced traditional soup kitchens with vibrant community hubs where professionals, students,
and unhoused neighbors sit side-by-side to share dignified, nutritious meals. Locally, the
concept began with 150 guests in the Aspen High School cafeteria in 2008, expanding to 1,500
attendees at the Hotel Jerome before outgrowing indoor venues. In 2019, it transitioned into
"Farm to Fridge," taking the communal table directly into local kitchens. In 2026, we distributed
5,923 pounds of fresh, local produce reaching around 2,000 people.
This year’s harvest features produce from Two Roots Farm, Wild Mountain Seeds, Top of the
World Cultivators, Moon Sprouts, Mountain Oven, TheFarm Collaborative and more!
In addition to food pickup, the afternoon includes community cider pressing, fire pits, and the
chance to meet local growers.
