A Media Stay at Hotel Maxwell Anderson in Glenwood Springs

Hotel Maxwell Anderson

Glenwood Springs has always been a favorite destination of mine, as revealed during my Fam Trip in Glenwood Springs over Covid. A wonderful departure from Aspen, Glenwood Springs has its own charm and scenic beauty, as well as its rejuvenating hot springs. On this trip, the focus was on visiting the newly opened Hotel Maxwell Anderson.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. When I was there for the Fam Trip it was called Hotel Denver, and while I am fond of historical hotels I appreciated the $5 million remodel and the new blend of modern elegance meets historic charm. I also appreciated that the hotel was not haunted, as verified by somebody who worked there. I guess they prefer the Hotel Colorado across the way.

The upgraded rooms at Hotel Maxwell Anderson are simple yet spacious, with old-world decor, wood floors, exposed brick walls, and beautiful views. The bathrooms are a bit small but the pressure of the shower was nice. I’m a bit spoiled though, and missed slipping into a plush bathrobe. I also missed having a down comforter on the bed, yes, I like to be cozy.

The lobby was excellent for blogging, with ample seating arrangements and a fireplace, and I was glad to see that Wild Coffee Roaster and Glenwood Brewpub were still adjacent to the hotel.

The location is perfect, with the train station and the Glenwood Hot Springs across the street and great restaurants like The Pullman, Riviera Scratch Kitchen, Co. Ranch House, and Slope & Hatch all next door. Up the street, are Native Son and Brava, two other restaurants I love. The shopping is good too, a refreshing reprieve from the luxury chain stores in Aspen. Check out Murphy Brown and Elizabeth Dean if you go there.

If you’re looking for a getaway that combines luxury, adventure, and relaxation, I highly recommend a stay at Hotel Maxwell Anderson. Whether you’re soaking in the hot springs, hiking to Hanging Lake, or simply enjoying the comforts of your room, you’re sure to create memories that will last a lifetime.
