What’s Happening in Carbondale?! 

The students of Carbondale Arts’ Creative Apprentice Program got to enjoy the experience of seeing their work make its debut in the Green is the New Black Fashion Extravaganza. To honor their work and complement the current exhibition WrappedPowers Art Center will be displaying their sketches and concept boards April 5 – May 4. The pieces were so successful that community members have inquired about purchasing them, which are now up for auction. Make your bids (or donations) here. Proceeds from the auction will support future collaborations between Carbondale Arts and the ReWear Upcycling Initiative at The Project Shop

Word on the street is: there is an exciting unveiling of a grandiose art piece by local artists Brian Colley and Andrew Chandler at El Dorado this Friday, March 22. Open to the public starting at 7pm. 

Happy Birthday Cocoa Club! Get yourself some birthday cake bonbons and/or chocolate martinis while enjoying some tunes by local band Sweet Jessup & The Dirty Buckets. Thursday March 21, 2-7pm.

Crystal River Youth Ballet presents the Ballet Ball at Thunder River Theatre. An exquisite blend of art, culture, and sophistication in the heart of Carbondale, with a special performance of Sleeping Beauty. Friday, March 22, 6-9pm: get tickets here

April’s First Friday is all about self-care. Spring into Wellness, hosted by The Center of Human Flourishing, takes place at the Carbondale Rec Center Friday, April 5 from 5-8pm.  Come engage with valleywide practitioners and businesses committed to the health and wellness of our community. Learn more here

How lucky are we that 5Point Film hosts their flagship festival here in Carbondale?! April 24-28 at the Carbondale Rec Center — tickets are now on sale, scoop them up while you can! Congratulations to local artist Hugh McCormick for being selected as the featured artist! If you can’t wait to be inspired, come to the opening reception of 5Point’s Expedition Photographs exhibit at the 

Carbondale Arts Gallery paired with another fine art photography exhibit, Intimate Landscapes by Ashley Mosher.
