In 2021 and 2022, FirstBank partnered with global reforestation nonprofit, One Tree Planted, to help plant 100,000 trees across Colorado, Arizona, and California. This year, the bank is going even bigger.
For every consumer checking account opened from June 5th (World Environment Day) to September 16th (World Ozone Day), the bank will donate* to a planet-saving cause of your choice. The “Go Green” campaign invites new and returning customers to open any checking account and choose between one of the following planet friendly causes. You can:
- Plant Trees – Help reforestation efforts with One Tree Planted.
- Conserve Water – Promote water conservation and sustainability for rivers and waterways with Western Resource Advocates.
- Save Bees – Fund honey bee research to enhance honey bee health and improve crop production with Project Apis m.
How it works:
- Open any checking account. New and existing customers can open any checking account from June 5 to September 16.
- You’ll be entered to win a $500 weekly drawing. During the promotional period, customers will be entered into a $500 weekly drawing**. That’s proof that doing good can also do you good. For official rules, visit efirstbank.com/green.
- Vote for a nonprofit. Customers who opened a checking account during the promotional period will be invited to vote for their favorite environmental cause: from conserving water, to protecting bees, to planting trees. Voting takes place from Sept. 18-30. Donations, of up to $60,000, will be distributed based on votes.

In addition, customers will also receive a Recovered Ocean Bound Plastic (ROBP) Visa® debit card.*** In an effort to reduce ocean waste, the bank partnered with Second Wave®, which uses recycled plastic sourced from the sea.
