In a world where people need positivity and optimism, I’m more determined than ever to stay true to myself and my passion for connecting people and promoting brands by telling their stories. But after 16 years of building community, I’m putting it out to the Universe that it’s time for me to have an investor.
Bob Chapman’s “Our Community Listens”
I just finished Bob Chapman’s “Our Community Listens” course, and my DISC personality analysis pretty much pegged my behavior. I’m 60% “I,” which means 60% of my behavioral tendencies lean toward an Influence profile. The remaining 40% leans toward “S,” the Steadiness profile. That means my psychological need is to be loved and to serve a higher purpose. I can’t say I disagree.
Admittedly, I don’t much like the idea of generalizing behavioral traits with computer algorithms, but the analysis was pretty spot-on, which kept me captivated through the entire three-day intensive.
The course confirmed that my tune plays strongest in social situations where I can work my magic to create harmony among people. According to the analysis, I’m friendly, sociable, people-oriented, thorough, careful, kind, helpful, polite, secure, approachable and undemanding (that last one may be a stretch), and I’m motivated by working with people in a positive, encouraging and open atmosphere. I value honesty, reliability and team spirit, and I’m motivated by security, stability and a vision for the future. I couldn’t have described myself any better.
I mean, who wouldn’t want to invest in somebody like that to help enhance the energy and well-being of her community? Heck, I’d hire myself in a heartbeat!
Manifesting My Investor
So what am I looking for? Someone who understands the importance of connection, who lets me stay in the flow of being me, but who also gives me intelligent, sound advice based on wisdom and knowledge. Somebody who understands the psychology of people and appreciates the value of brainstorming sessions with other intelligent creatives.
Yours truly,
Jilly
